SITUATIONS THAT TELEMEDICINE IS APPROPRIATE

In order to receive the very best care through telemedicine visits, it’s important that we ensure you are a current client whose pet has had a physical exam within the last 12 months. Additionally, due to the digital nature of telemedicine, only some medical issues can be appropriately solved over a video consultation such as:● Minor symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, or diarrhea● Some skin conditions or ear infections● Chronic conditions such as arthritis or allergies● A change in behavior such as lethargy or scratching themselves more often● Recheck exams after simple procedures or surgeries● Rabies Observations (if pet is current)

*All of these conditions apply only if your pet has had a physical exam with us within the last year. Due to current Illinois Veterinary Board restrictions, telemedicine services are available only to current clients. This may change with new federal regulations in the future. If we determine we need to see your pet in person, you will not be charged again for an exam.

THE COST OF VETERINARY TELEMEDICINE VISITS

Phone consultations are charged $36 ($40 after January 1) per consultation. Any prescribed medications during the call will be at an additional charge. It is possible that during the telemedicine appointment our veterinarian will recommend that you schedule an in-clinic appointment. We will be happy to help schedule said appointment and will make sure your pre-paid virtual exam fee is counted towards the new exam fee.Have any further questions or concerns about veterinary telemedicine?
