Some Ways to Give
Make a Bequest
A bequest to SSHS through your will or living trust is the most common planned giving vehicle. They are easy to arrange and will not affect your current lifestyle and may be changed depending on your life circumstances.
Retirement Plan Assets
You may also name SSHS as a beneficiary of your IRA or other qualified retirement benefits. To make a charitable gift from your retirement plan, simply enter SSHS’s name and Tax ID EIN 23-7165004 on the Change of Beneficiary form, available from your plan administrator.
Insurance Policies
You can make a gift of a life insurance policy — one you already own or are about to purchase — by naming SSHS as a beneficiary. The tax benefit for leaving your life insurance to SSHS would be equal to the policy’s cash value, plus any premiums paid on the policy after the gift is made. To take advantage of the income tax benefit, you would need to name SSHS as both the owner and the beneficiary.
For some, a legacy gift is a way to ensure your memory lives on for years to come. For others, it is a way to ensure that SSHS is able to continue its important work. What better way continue to make a difference then by making a contribution from your estate? By creating a legacy, you are making a significant contribution to the future sustainability of the work that is most meaningful to you.
You are in no way obligated to do so, but we hope you will let us know if you have included SSHS as a beneficiary of your estate. Providing us with notice of your intention is the best way to ensure that we receive the gift you have planned for us and we are best able to honor your wishes when we know of them in advance.
A planned gift often has tax benefits. We would be pleased to work with you and your advisors to help develop a personally rewarding charitable gift that will ensure that SSHS will be supported and thrive for decades to come.
