We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities, from dog walking and cat socialization to fundraising and outreach.To join our volunteer team, just follow these steps:

1. Make sure to meet our requirements:

● Prospective volunteers must be at least 12 years old, and any volunteer between 12-15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Volunteers 16 and older may volunteer on their own. If you're under the age of 12, or are looking for service and fundraising project ideas, click here.● Volunteers are required to make a 6 month, 8 hour per month commitment. (We ask that you serve 2 hours a week or 4 hours every other week.) ● Volunteers are required to pay a one-time, $25 volunteer training fee. Upon payment, you will receive a volunteer t-shirt and name tag.

2. Apply​​​​:

● ​Fill out a volunteer application by clicking the Become a Volunteer button at the top of this page. Our volunteer coordinator will then contact you with instructions on how to complete an online orientation.​​​Note: We do not accept any cases of court-ordered community service.

3. Attend Training:

● Once you have completed the orientation, you will be invited to attend an introductory training session where you will learn the basics of animal handling and what it means to be a volunteer at SSHS.
