Adoptions
You give them the loving home they deserve, and we'll provide you with all the help and resources you need for your new family member. All pets adopted from SSHS go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on routine vaccinations.
Check out our dogs available for adoption at our Matteson location, at the Homewood Adoption Center, or from foster care.
Check out our cats available for adoption at our Matteson location, at the Homewood Adoption Center, from foster care or at our PetSmart locations.
Fostering pets is a huge way to help save lives in our community. Give a temporary home to a pet in need and help them find their permanent family!
How to Adopt
We want to make the process of adopting a new pet as stress-free as possible.
Feel free to come in to the shelter during adoptions hours just to look around. If you see a dog or cat you may want to take home, let one of our adoptions counselors know and we'll have you fill out a brief application and talk over the adoption process and details of the pet. Most pets go home the same day!
